Carl Broemel (of My Morning Jacket)

Years before Carl Broemel joined My Morning Jacket — the Grammy-nominated, globetrotting rock band featuring his guitar playing, saxophone solos, harmony singing, pedal steel riffs, and songwriting support — he wrote his very first songs in his Indiana bedroom.

From the start, he was a multi-instrumentalist with a singer’s gift for melody. A sideman capable of handling a frontman’s job. As his guitar-playing career blossomed, Broemel continued writing songs of his own, carving out a personal, introspective sound that reached beyond My Morning Jacket’s sonic landscape. With his third solo album, Wished Out, he merges articulate, pensive songwriting — including ruminations about science, love, the passing of time, and the grind of the artistic struggle — with some of the most energetic, rock-inspired songs to date.

Nick Dittmeier & the Sawdusters

Join us at the Sierra Nevada Taproom in Mills River on Saturday, October 27th from 2pm to 5pm for a free show with Nick Dittmeier & the Sawdusters.

A four piece Americana band from Bloomington, IN. They’ve released two EPs, “Extra Better” in 2013, and then “Light of Day” in 2014.Through relentless touring, they’ve become mainstays of the Midwest Americana scene. In September of 2015, they set ten highway-tested, fine-tuned songs loose in the confines of LA LA Land Studios. The result is “Midwest Heart/Southern Blues”. This album is a gritty, upbeat collection of songs, full of characters who were developed while staring over the dash of a beat up Ford van cruising through towns in the South and Midwest, whose better days are behind them.

For fans of The Band, Little Feat, and the Turnpike Troubadours.
