Springtoberfest! & Grand Opening of Lower Park

Sierra Nevada Springtoberfest

1:00pm - 5:00pm

Don’t wait until October to get your ‘fest on. Each year, Sierra Nevada collaborates with a traditional German brewery to brew a unique Oktoberfest beer. Our 2018 collaborating partners from Weihenstephan will be traveling to North Carolina to try the first brew.

Naturally, we’ll be debuting our riverside venue, Lower Park, with traditional Oom-Pah music, German snacks, and plenty of steins of festbier to sample at the third annual Springtoberfest. Come try these first exclusive tastes of our 2018 Oktoberfest collaboration beer alongside the brewers on the French Broad River!

No admission fee. Complimentary steins while supplies last. Costume encouraged! Beer & food for sale as usual. No age restrictions to be in Lower Park.

Prost!

Goldie and the Screamers

Goldie & The Screamers have a mission to move you; to create music that stirs your heart without neglecting your body. This Asheville based Soul/Neo Soul outfit have been quickly building a loyal following since their first public performance in the Spring of 2014.

“Goldie” is fronted by the texturally rich vocals of CaroMia Tiller, who’s performances seamlessly metamorphose song to song- at times lush and sultry and at times soul shaking and explosive. Their grooves are driven by the funky bass lines of Chandler Brewer, vintage R&B beats of Jacob Coats, smooth keyboards of CaroMia and the standout dapper guitar stylings of Jesse Lapinsky. Goldie & The Screamers tend to lean toward the seductive avenues of Soul music, but never averting from their mission to get your body moving.

With gorgeously crafted originals that call on the timeless quality of soul music past while still moving into the future, and inspired, crowd pleasing renditions of favorites like Erykah Badu’s “Tyrone” and Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind”, Goldie & The Screamers have something to hook just about everyone.

Eleanor Underhill and Friends

Eleanor Underhill & Friends banded together in 2014 to create music that would entertain the dancer and the listener alike. With genre-bending grooves, thoughtful original compositions, and cover songs you would never expect from a banjo-fronted band, they create a sound that blends elements of Americana, world, pop, jazz, reggae, and acoustic rock. Unafraid to launch from Radiohead’s Creep into TLC’s Creep and back again, Eleanor Underhill and Friends thrives on experimentation and boundary-pushing.

Eleanor Underhill, singer, songwriter, and banjo player, is best known from her work with Americana-folk group Underhill Rose. Christopher Chappell Pyle, drummer and percussionist, toured the world over with Royal Trucks, Soulgrass Rebellion, The Get Right Band and most recently The Artimus Pyle Band and Chappell. Zack Page is a mainstay in the Asheville music scene, lending his upright bass talents to The Page Brothers, One Leg Up, regional jazz jams, and countless other notable acts. Eleanor Underhill and Friends features guests from the Asheville music scene at most shows, so you never know what surprises await.

These great trails symbolize outdoor adventure, provide recreational opportunities, and help people live happy, healthy, and fulfilled lives. Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. believes in sustainable enjoyment of our environment as reflected in these organizations and those who have trek the AT & PCT.

Beginning on Earth Day, Sunday, April 22 through Saturday, April 28, Sierra Nevada’s taproom locations in Chico, Mills River, and Berkeley will be donating a portion of proceeds from all Pale Ales served to the National Trails System.

To culminate the Pale Ales for Trails week, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. will be donating 100% of ticket sales from our 5Point Film Festival showings on Saturday, April 28th at our breweries in Mills River, NC and Chico, CA.
