Tour d’Amour XII

This is possibly the fastest selling band we present each year. Nuf said.

“Weʼve never fit into any quickly digestible category,” says ALOʼs keyboardist/singer Zach Gill. “Itʼs just a different kind of experience.”

ALO is more than a band. It’s a musical relationship that has endured for over two decades, with band members playing in numerous projects together and apart. Following the 2012 release of their freewheeling Sounds Like This, the band took time off to work on various side projects. Zach Gill (keys/vocals) toured the world with the band’s college pal Jack Johnson; Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz (guitar/vocals) played shows with the Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh; Steve Adams (bass/vocals) toured and recorded with Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers; Dave Brogan (drums/vocals) joined up with Utah band, Mokie. These and other endeavors have all influenced the band’s new album Tangle Of Time.

The California-based bandʼs fourth Brushfire Records release showcases their unfettered passion, wit, and imagination while simultaneously exploring hitherto uncharted musical terrain. Invigorated by an unstructured approach to the studio process, ALO have accessed new avenues of resourcefulness, resulting in a truly distinctive collection of songs that adroitly captures all the glorious ingenuity and adventure of the bandʼs legendary live sets.

St. Patrick’s Day comes early to the Big Room!!

Lúnasa and Tim O’Brien embark on a transatlantic journey exploring the common roots, interplay and mutual influences at the heart of American and Irish music.

Lúnasa, described by the Associated Press as “the hottest Irish acoustic group on the planet,” joins forces with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter-instrumentalist Tim O’Brien (“one of my favorite singers” — Mark Knopfler) (“one of my all time favorite performers, period” - Bob Littell) in a rich and exciting concert of trans-Atlantic collaboration.

Lúnasa features all-Ireland champions like fiddler Sean Smyth and other world-class players, including veterans of The Waterboys and Donal Lunny’s Coolfin. O’Brien’s songs have been recorded by the likes of Garth Brooks, the Dixie Chicks, and other Nashville heavyweights.

Together they explore the rich and exciting connection between Appalachian music and its updated Irish ancestry.
